i remember hearing a voice echo in the room

“I will write love on your soul if you let me”

and i had never known His love like that before

to feel so deeply, purely, knowingly desired

and i haven’t written in a long, long time

for years and years and years

my thoughts have gone unnoted

blurring between the lines of what is important & what is not

but i hear Him still

aching to edge and carve His words into my soul

so that my heart may always call Him home
